Plasma(H₂O₂) Biological Indicator

Sterilization Biological Indicator (BI) is the most reliable and accurate indicator used to verify the effectiveness of sterilization processes. It typically consists of a small, self-contained package containing bacterial spores that are highly resistant to the sterilization process being used. These spores are placed in a location within the sterilization chamber where they would be expected to be the most difficult to kill.

After the sterilization process is complete, the BI is removed from the sterilization chamber and incubated in a culture medium that promotes the growth of the spores. If the spores have been killed by the sterilization process, there will be no growth in the culture medium. If the spores have survived, they will grow and indicate that the sterilization process was not effective.

Sterilization BIs are used in a variety of settings where sterilization is critical, such as hospitals, laboratories, and industrial manufacturing facilities. They are an important tool in ensuring that sterilization processes are working properly and that instruments and equipment are safe for use.
